Food waste is a large problem so, our portions are of sensible size as we do our best to cut down on this waste. In our “about us” one can view the percentage of food products wasted by the average American.
Uneaten food left by the guests is not the only source of food waste in the restaurant industry. Other causes of food waste come from spoiled food, food trim, incorrectly prepared food and overproduction.
Although it can be challenging to control the amount of wasted food, our restaurant is dedicated to reducing the waste as much as possible. Some ways that we are able to reduce food waste is to give left over unused food at the end of the night to nearby shelters and food banks, evaluate prep waste to determine poor practices or highly wasteful items and creative re-use of certain foods. Being aware of the importance of food waste is what keeps us confident in our reduction of it.
